According to the local police, a man from Hanoi and his friends were swept away by strong waves while swimming at Lang Co Beach on May 1.
A tourist has been saved at Lang Co Beach
After hearing the calls for help, Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Viet Trung and some staff from the nearby Lang Co Guesthouse rushed into the sea to attempt a rescue despite strong waves. They then brought the man safely ashore.
Two other people from a group of visitors on April 30 were swept away in Lang Co and Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Viet Trung and four staff from Lang Co Guesthouse also saved them.
Beaches in Thua Thien-Hue Province, particularly Lang Co, are particularly crowded with tourists at this time.
