The scene of the accident
According to chairman of the Tien Phong Commune People's Committee, Vo Khanh Toan, the accident occurred at the Sao Va Waterfall in Que Phong District at 3pm on June 16 when three visitors were taking photos.
They slipped and fell off a cliff. Seeing the accident, people around rushed to help and managed to save two of them while one other was swept away and went missing.
Rescue forces were sent to the site and found the female tourist at 11pm the same day. The victim was identified as Nguyen Thi, 41, who came from Vinh City.
Toan said that there were many warning boards put in the area but some visitors don't pay attention. A young woman also drowned while swimming at the site last year.
