A collision between a tender and a tourist boat in Ha Long Bay, in the northern province of Quang Ninh on October 3 left five Taiwanese tourists dead, including one man, three women and a nine-year-old girl.
All victims were taken to hospital
The accident occurred between Dong Phong 02 tourist boat, QN 1402 and a tender carrying 18 Taiwanese on board on way back to a vessel after visiting Sung Sot cave. The tender sank after the collision.
By 06:00 PM the same day, the victims were taken to a general hospital in Bai Chay while others were safely brought to Lotus hotel in Tuan Chau resort area.
Dang Huy Hau, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee said post-accident procedures are being processed and investigations on the cause of the accident is underway.-
