Hanoi Market Management Department finds tonnes of fake products under famous foreign brand names produced at a workshop in Chuong My District on December 26.

The 1,400-square-metre dark workshop was equipped with some simple machinery but produced various popular products including Australian Blackmores Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin E cream and Femfresh daily wash, South Korean Yujin facial mask and UltraV Premium Peeling, and Canadian Gamma Linolenic Acid Evening Primrose Oil, among others.

A representative of the Blackmores Company in Vietnam arrived at the workshop and confirmed that the Blackmores Evening Primrose Oil pills produced there were fake.

Police seized 40 tonnes of fake products and ingredients of unknown origin and lots of fake logo stamps and boxes bearing foreign brand names which have been used for packaging the products.

Head of the Hanoi Market Management Department, Nguyen Phi Hien, said that it took them nearly 20 hours to check and take out the 40 tonnes of illegally made products on 26 trucks.

Police are further investigating the case.
