According to Hanoi People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung, the city has made preparations to receive roughly 950 people from virus-stricken areas in China. These people will be then isolated at two field hospitals in Xuan Mai and Son Tay towns for 14 days. The individuals who have a fever or other symptoms of nCoV infection will be transferred to specialized hospitals for treatment.
Medical staff, equipment and necessities have been prepared for the work.Colonel Nguyen Viet Thang, Military Medical Head of the High Command’s Medical Service, said that the agency will send vehicles to Noi Bai and Van Don international airports to pick up and then transport the people to Xuan Mai and Son Tay areas.
The quarantine will help classify the people and monitor their health in order to prevent the spread of the Wuhan virus, Thang noted.
To date, Hanoi has not yet seen any coronavirus case. The city has isolated 29 suspected people with 27 among those tested negative to the virus.
Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung instructed to sterilise all local agencies and public places, including stations, for the disease prevention along with providing free masks for local residents.
Municipal authorities have requested to stop all festivals.
The northern mountainous province of Lao Cai has considered setting up a field hospital and arranged sick-beds at many local hospitals to quarantine people coming back from the virus-ravaged areas.
Meanwhile, the central localities of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue are expected to see around 1,700 people returning from the coronavirus-hit areas.
