8,000 pairs of suspected counterfeit shoes seized in Bac Ninh store.
Bac Ninh Police Department and the provincial Market Management Department carried out a check at a store in Que Vo District and found 8,000 pairs of suspected fake sports shoes. They included 4,200 pairs of MLB, 3,200 pairs of Nikes and 600 pairs of Adidas shoes.
The store's owner, Nguyen The Thu, failed to show papers clarifying the origins of the products. He said that he was selling the products to wholesale traders only through his Facebook Fanpage and Zalo app.
Police confiscated the shoes for further investigation.
Bac Binh Police also seized more than 76,800 suspected counterfeit products, weighing over 20 tonnes in July at a local storehouse. The goods consisted of cosmetic products bearing popular brands such as Innisfree and perfume products with some labels including Chanel, Gucci, Dior, Versace, and Victoria’s Secret.
