Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) started selling train tickets for Tet today, October 20. Passengers can buy tickets at stations or online.
By 1.30 pm around 35,400 train tickets had been booked for trips around Tet. Among those, nearly 18,000 tickets have already been paid for, while the remainder has been reserved for 24 hours.

Most tickets on some routes to central localities such as Quang Ngai, Danang and Thanh Hoa were fully booked on February 2-8 next year.
This year, Tet train ticket prices have increased by 1-4 percent due to rising fuel prices and input costs. The highest ticket is VND2.95 million on the Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi route.
Saigon Railway Transport Joint Company will run extra trains from HCM City to popular tourist destinations like Hue, Danang, Quang Ngai and Nha Trang on Tet.
Roughly 200,000 train tickets are expected to be sold for Tet trips.
