The Nha Trang Bay Management Board said rescue teams on February 20 saved all 10 individuals, including several foreign tourists, after strong waves carried them away from shore.

Sea conditions in the coastal city in Khanh Hoa Province have been unstable during Tet, with high waves and choppy waters. Authorities had erected warning signs and deployed personnel to advise beachgoers against swimming, but some ignored the alerts.
Officials urged residents and visitors not to enter the water when waves are high, seas are rough or rip currents are present, and to follow all warning flags and lifeguard instructions. Any incidents should be reported immediately to the nearest rescue team.
Separately, authorities recovered the body of a foreign man found drifting offshore. Police in Nha Trang are investigating his identity and the cause of death.
