Vietnam welcomes the Swedish Government’s decision to maintain its embassy in Hanoi and believes that the embassy would make positive contributions to promoting the two countries’ relations, a Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.
Spokeswoman Nguyen Phuong Nga made the statement on Thursday while answering reporters’ questions on the Swedish Government’s reversal of its plan to close the Swedish Embassy in Hanoi.
“Vietnam always advocates enhancing and deepening its traditional friendly and cooperative relations with Sweden, which have been upheld and developed by the two countries’ generations of leaders and peoples in past years,” Nga said.
