Storm Saola forecasted to hit the East Sea

Storm Saola has been forecasted to enter the East Sea in some days to come, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

At 7 am this morning, August 29, the storm was moving northeast of the Philippines’ Luzon Island.

By 7 am on August 31, the typhoon would enter the East Sea.

The northeast of the East Sea from this evening would face violent winds. In areas near the eye of the storm would see waves of 3-5 metres.

The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control has asked localities to keep a close eye on the typhoon. Boat owners need to be warned of the typhoon in order to seek safety.

The Vietnam News Agency cited Filipino rescue forces on August 27 as saying that hundreds of people were forced to leave their homes as floods unleashed by Super Typhoon Saola swept through mainly rural villages in the northwest of the country.
