According to a report from Lam Dong authorities, the 60-year-old female tourist slipped and fell four metres from a cliff atop of Langbiang mountain while taking photos on the morning of October 26.

She was immediately taken to the Lam Dong General Hospital for treatment but she died in the afternoon the same day due to multiple severe injuries.

Located in Lac Duong District and some 12 kilometres from Dalat City, Langbiang Mountain is over 2,000 metres above sea level and is a popular tourism site in the central highlands province.

Earlier on Tuesday, four South Korean tourists died after being washed away in a flash flood while visiting Cu Lan Village, another popular tourist site in the district.

Cu Lan Village has been suspended operation and its managers have been asked to co-operate with authorities to investigate and deal with the aftermath of the accident.

Following the fatal accident, PM Pham Minh Chinh also requested Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to intensify flood prevention activities and tighten management on adventure tourism to ensure safety for residents and visitors.
