Six people drowned in Quang Ngai and Tra Vinh provinces, including a grandfather and his two grandkids.

At around 6 pm on Friday, the 69-year-old man took his two grandchildren, one aged 12 and the other aged eight, to Dau River in Binh Son District’s Binh Duong Commune to swim. The case was detected by a local man who sailed a boat on the river.
The rescue force found the two children first. They had died before being taken to the district’s medical centre for treatment. Their grandfather was found dead in the river a short time later.
So far this year, six drowning cases have happened in Binh Son District, killing ten people.
On June 15, three boys aged eight, 12 and 14 also drowned while swimming in a pond in the southern province of Tra Vinh.
They were all from poor families. Two among them were brothers.
