The festival is part of the national programme to preserve and develop ca tru which was deemed an intangible cultural heritage in need of promotion by UNESCO in 2009.
The festival will be a chance for ca tru troupes to report their efforts in restoring the significance of treasured ca tru pieces over the 2010-14 period.
About 130 repertoires will be performed at the festival which will highlight and reward the best performances on August 29.
