
The scholarships offer young ASEAN people opportunities to develop their ability and also equip them with necessary skills for their future career, he added.
The diplomat also expressed his hope that the recipients will take full advantage of the scholarships and contribute to the mutual understanding between the two young peoples.
The ASEAN scholarship programme is part of the cooperation between the Singaporean Education Ministry and ASEAN countries for pupils aged between 14-16.
The scholarships cover food, accomodation and tuition fees during their four years of studying at Singaporean State-run high schools.
After graduation, pupils with outstanding academic records will have a chance to apply for the ASEAN
undergraduate scholarships at Singaporean universities.
