The New World Alliance (TNWA) said Monday it will launch its first direct Vietnam-North Europe service.
The group includes shipping firms APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) and Mistui O.S.K. Lines (MOL).
TNWA said it would create the new route by adding a Vietnam call to its JEX service.
The service will directly link Vietnam with the European ports of Rotterdam, Hamburg and Le Havre, the group said in a press release.
Further, it will provide direct links from major Japanese and Chinese ports to Vietnam.
The first vessel in the service is expected to call at Cai Mep in south Vietnam in mid-January.
The JEX service will cover the following ports in rotation: Kobe, Nagoya, Shimizu, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Cai Mep, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Le Havre, Jeddah, Singapore, Yantian, Hong Kong and Kobe.
