Seven found dead off Phu Quoc Island

Seven dead bodies were found floating off Phu Quoc Island in the southern Kien Giang Province Thursday, including two of Chinese nationality.

Seven dead bodies were found floating off Phu Quoc Island in the southern Kien Giang Province Thursday, including two of Chinese nationality.

According to the initial information, local residents detected the first two bodies drifting onto Bai Truong Beach in Duong To Commune at around 11 am on Thursday. Some hours later, they saw five corpses nearby.

The bodies are both male and female and were decomposed. Papers inside the wallet of two of the dead showed that they are Chinese nationals.

The police are investigating the case.

On September 24, people in Phu Quoc rescued nine Chinese people who drifted near a local beach. The people said that they are part of a 20-fishing group. They claimed they sank near Cambodian waters.
