School for overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia inaugurated

The Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia and the Vietnamese Cambodian Association in Kampong Chhnang has inaugurated a school for overseas Vietnamese in the Cambodian province’s Boribo district.

 Gift packages presented to overseas Vietnamese children at the inauguration ceremony

The floating school was built on Tonlé Sap River at a total cost of US$36,000.

It will house classes for around 200 students from over 600 overseas Vietnamese households.

Teacher Le Thi Tham thanked the authorities of Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnamese Embassy for supporting and sponsoring the construction of the school.

The embassy took the occasion to present 240 gift packages to overseas Vietnamese children.

Kampong Chhnang is home to over 10,000 Vietnamese expatriates, most of whom live on fishing.
