Many areas in Hanoi near the Red River have been severely submerged, and thousands of people have been evacuated.
Hanoi has temporarily closed Long Bien Bridge and banned heavier vehicles on Chuong Duong Bridge due to the high floodwater on the Red River.
The Red River's water level has reduced but remained high. Therefore, residential areas by the river will continue to face inundation in the days to come.
Luckily, the rain stopped in Hanoi, easing the pressure on the rivers. The flooding in many northern localities, including Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen and Yen Bai, has considerably improved.
