Rare python slips into Dak Lak house

A rare reticulated python has been found wandering a house in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak.

A family in Ea Tar Commune, Cu M’gar, saw the reticulated python searching for chickens. They then captured the python and handed it over to local authorities.

The python is handed over to the Dak Lak Elephant Conservation, Wildlife Rescue and Forest Protection on June 17.

Authorities in Ea Tar Commune, Cu M’gar District, Dak Lak, handed over the 21-kilogramme reticulated python to the Dak Lak Centre for Elephant Conservation, Wildlife Rescue and Forest Protection on June 17.

The reticulated python is classified as a Group IIB endangered and rare species in Vietnam, protected by law, and strictly banned from exploitation and use.
