Earlier, while on his way home, Nguyen Van Linh from Thanh Hoa Commune, Tuyen Hoa District, spotted a pangolin trapped in the net on a local road and quickly stepped in for the rescue.

Aware that the pangolin is a rare and protected species, he reported the case to the local police.
This morning, April 11, Linh voluntarily handed over the pangolin to Tuyen Hoa District’s Forest Protection Board.

The pangolin is currently under the care of Tuyen Hoa District’s Forest Protection Board before being transferred to the Phong Nha-Ke Bang Rescue and Conservation Centre for release into the wild.
The 1.5-kilogramme pangolin is classified as a Group IB species, a rare and endangered animal strictly protected by law. All forms of hunting, trading, use, or consumption are strictly prohibited.
