Air pollution fell considerably in Hanoi Thursday morning courtesy of downpours, raising the city’s air quality to good.

The capital city’s Air Quality Index was recorded at between 26 and 50 this morning at 10 local air monitoring stations.

Even areas which suffered from high fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) levels of 135-148 on April 21 and 22 such as Hang Dau, Minh Khai and Pham Van Dong streets saw remarkable improvement with PM2.5 indexes of from 33 and 50.

Since this morning, Hanoi has started easing the social distancing regulations, so local streets became more crowded. However, the city’s air quality remained good.

This weekend, Hanoi’s air quality is forecasted to be safe for people’s health.
