The incident is said to have occurred on the morning of April 3 in Viet Xuyen Commune, formerly part of Thach Ha District.
According to information shared online, a dog weighing about 40 kg escaped and attacked its owner, causing fatal injuries.
Video footage from the scene showed an ambulance at the site and crowds gathering nearby. The dog was later beaten to death by local residents.
Local authorities have confirmed that a death occurred but said the exact cause remains under investigation.
