A fallen tree damages a car in Dalat City on July 21.

The incident occurred in Xuan Huong Park near Tran Quoc Toan and Ho Tung Mau streets, where a three-needle pine tree over 10 metres tall and about 70 cm in diameter was uprooted and fell onto parked vehicles.

At the time, around 10 tourist cars were parked in the area. One five-seater vehicle was crushed by the fallen tree, suffering severe body damage.

Nearby, a large branch from another pine tree, about 40 cm in diameter, snapped off from a high point and struck a seven-seater car, heavily denting its roof.

Local residents reported that strong winds also tore the metal roof off a house adjacent to the park. The roofing material fell into the park area but fortunately did not injure any passersby.

Around the same time, other neighbourhoods in Dalat, including Lang Biang and Cam Ly wards, also experienced strong winds and rain, which uprooted several trees and caused damage to private property and public roads.
