The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the lobsters belong to farms in the Dam Dan area in Song Cau Town.

As many as 29,000 lobsters in Phu Yen have died due to the impact of Storm Mulan
Most of the lobsters weigh between 200-500 grams. Total losses are estimated at around VND2.5 billion (USD107,758).
According to the Phu Yen Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province has been experiencing heavy rain due to Storm Mulan. Rainwater has stirred toxic gas accumulated underneath the mud and sediments, resulting in oxygen depletion.
Nguyen Van Lam, head of the Phu Yen Board of Animal Health and Livestock Production, has asked local farmers to frequently clean lobster cages. When lobsters exhibit signs of oxygen depletion, it is essential to bring the cages near the water surface and use measures to create oxygen.
Son Cau Town, Phu Yen’s lobster hub, is home to lobster farms which cover a total area of 1,000 hectares. In the first six months of this year, the town’s total lobster productivity reached around 630 tonnes.
