Petroleum prices slightly increase

Prices of petroleum products have slightly risen from 3 pm today, October 21.

According to the decision by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, the retail prices of E5 RON 92 and RON 95 rose by VND200 and VND340 per litre to VND21,490 and VND22,340 respectively.

Diesel increased by VND600 to VND24,780, while prices of kerosene rose by VND600 to VND23,660 per litre. Meanwhile, mazut oil declined by VND200 to VND13,890 per kilo.

This is the second petroleum price rise this month following four previous decreases earlier.

Before the price hike time today, petrol stations in Hanoi were still operating normally and did not see any surge in customer numbers.

The Ministry of Finance has asked the General Department of Customs to facilitate customs clearance for petroleum imports.

The State Bank of Vietnam has been asked to consider offering credit incentives for petroleum business activities, including the application of preferential interest rates, to help meet domestic demand.
