The activity was part of the Environment Day programme organised by Son Tra Peninsula and Danang Tourism Beaches Management Board.

The programme which took place at Ha Khe Square in Thanh Khe District, attracted the participation of local officials, representatives from various departments and agencies, local people and students.

Speaking at the event, vice head of the Son Tra Peninsula and Danang Tourism Beaches Management Board, Tran Dai Nghia, shared that Danang’s beaches just appeared on a list of the seven most beautiful beaches in the world by the New Zealand Herald.


"This programme will prepare our beaches for the coming summer holiday," Nghia said. "It will also help raise awareness of local people and visitors in protecting the sea and keeping the environment clean. We can only develop tourism sustainably when the environment is ensured."

There are some other activities organised during this programme including an exhibition of 20 paintings and objects made from recycled materials; workshops on waste classifying and recycling, dove releasing, among others.

The programme also raised VND 200 million to help build two houses for two environmental workers who had financial difficulties.
