NZ, Vietnam step up education cooperation

A high-level delegation from the five secondary schools in Hanoi paid a working visit to New Zealand to seek stronger education affiliation between the two nations.

A high-level delegation from the five secondary schools in Hanoi paid a working visit to New Zealand on February 29- March 5 to seek stronger education affiliation between the two nations.

Phung Thi Lan, CEO of T&L International Education, Training & Cooperation, Joint Stock Company said the delegation and representatives from schools in Wellington discussed a score of specific cooperative measures and a student exchange program between the two sides in the time ahead.

Meeting the delegation and leaders from high secondary schools in Wellington, Vietnam Ambassador to New Zealand Nguyen Viet Dung described New Zealand as an attractive destination with the world-leading advanced and high quality education for both international and Vietnamese students.

The Vietnamese diplomat appreciated the fruitful education cooperation between the two sides while reiterating his agency’s willingness to optimize the cooperative model among localities in the future aiming to offer ample opportunities for Vietnamese students to study in New Zealand, promote people-to-people exchanges, and deepen mutual understanding of land, culture and people of each nation.

On the occasion, ten famed schools in Wellington decided to grant 10 scholarships worth US$19,800 to outstanding students in Hanoi.
