The cold weather would affect northern localities from Thursday evening.

The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to experience a light cold spell
On Thursday, the north and central localities from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue would have a rainfall of 20-80mm for 24 hours. Warnings of whirlwinds, thunder and hail with rain have been issued.
Flooding would occur in some low areas.
The National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting also predicted the rainy weather in the southern central, Central Highlands and southern regions on Thursday with the highest rainfall of 70mm for 24 hours.
The centre said that there would be a 10-30 percent chance of rainfall in the north in May, lower than the same period in previous years. Meanwhile, it would be 5-15 percent higher in central localities from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue.
