The northern and central regions of Vietnam have been forecasted to experience widespread hot weather from tomorrow, April 18.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the hot spell would last until April 23. The northwestern and northern central regions would see the highest temperature of 33-35 degrees centigrade. Some areas would have temperatures of more than 38 degrees centigrade.

Meanwhile, northeastern localities’ are set to experience temperatures of between 33-35 degrees centigrade.

The National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has warned that the hot weather may cause forest fires in the central region.

The centre also reported that the hot weather would appear more in the northern and central region from May with the temperature forecasted to grow by 0.5-1 degree centigrade compared to last summer.

In the first three months of this year, the average temperature in the northern and central regions was 0.5-1 degree centigrade higher than the same period last year.
