Two train services were halted on September 27 before the typhoon hit the central region of Vietnam.

According to the Vietnam Railways Corporation, many sections of the North-South railway route were damaged by the storm, including Truoi-Cau Hai section in Thua Thien-Hue, Cau Hai-Thua Luu, Kim Lien-Thanh Khe and Tra Kieu-Phu Cang in Quang Nam and Danang. 

The Tam Ky- Diem Pho section faced particularly serious landslides.

Many central localities experienced power loss, affecting the operation of the railway system.

The Vietnam Railways Corporation has halted trains SE22 and SE21 on the Saigon-Danang route.

The affected passengers can change tickets free of charge.

By Wednesday midday, damaged railway sections were repaired. The Vietnam Railways Corporation has decided to reopen trains SE5 and SE6 on the North-South route linking Hanoi and HCM City.

People in Danang City are cleaning local streets and their houses after the storm which caused widespread powerlessness in the city and damaged many trees.

Meanwhile, Hoi An City in the central province of Quang Nam continues to be severely flooded because of heavy rain.
