The 2026 rankings by London-based aviation consultancy Skytrax show Noi Bai rising from 79th in 2025. In the same category, it joins airports such as Riyadh, Vienna, Zurich and Melbourne.
Danang International Airport in Danang was ranked 75th, up nine places from a year earlier.
Airport representatives said the improved ranking reflects infrastructure upgrades, including expanded check-in areas at both passenger terminals to optimise space and increase capacity during peak periods.
Modern equipment has also been installed across key areas, from check-in and security screening to baggage handling systems, helping to reduce waiting times and improve passenger convenience.
Beyond infrastructure, Noi Bai has accelerated digital transformation in management and operations. The adoption of airport collaborative decision making (A-CDM) has improved flight efficiency, on-time performance, fuel use and emissions.
Automated services such as self check-in kiosks and e-gates have been widely deployed, streamlining processes and enhancing convenience for passengers.
Close coordination among agencies at the airport, including authorities, border police, customs, airlines and ground handlers, has been cited as key to maintaining consistent service quality.
