Besides a large amount of driftwood, there are also plastic bottles and cans washed ashore. The rubbish is thought to have been swept along Cai River, to the estuaries and onto the beach.
Dozens of environment workers were sent out to clean up the beach.
According to the south region's Hydro-Meteorological Station, the increased cold spell and turbulent high winds caused rains in Khanh Hoa Province. The average rainfall was 30-60mm. Canh Ranh City had 95.5mm of rainfall.
The water level in Cai River also rose to 9.52 metres at 6 am, December 27, and will continue to rise.
