The ceremony was attended by Dantri/Dtinews Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Xuan Toan, Director of the Vietnam Study Promotion Fund, Nguyen Thu Huong, Deputy Secretary of Van Chan District Party Committee, Hoang Viet, Vice chairman of Van Chan District People's Committee, Lo Thi Thuy Nga, Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Construction Company, Chu Van Toan, other local officials and hundreds of local residents.
Speaking at the event, Yen Bai Provincial Study Promotion Association Chairman Trieu Tien Thinh, said that he was very moved to receive such valuable donations from Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper and kind donors to build the bridge.
"The bridge’s construction was previously planned to take three months but due to the urgent need from local residents, we sped up the work so that it was completed in just two months," Thinh said. "We now have a reliable bridge that local people have longed for."
The 42-metre bridge in Van Chan District's Cat Thinh Commune costs nearly VND 1 billion (USD43,478). Through the Dantri/Dtinews charity fund, Thanh Hoa Construction Company donated VND 500 million, and the Lectra Company donated VND 17 million for the bridge construction.

A local resident, Vua A Phenh said that the bridge opening ceremony was really a big event for them.

Sharing the happiness with local people, Dantri/Dtinews Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Xuan Toan said that they would continue to help build more bridges for people in remote and mountainous areas.

Also at the event, Dantri/Dtinews and the Vietnam Study Promotion Fund gave 40 scholarships worth VND 500,000 each to local students from families in difficulty.
