According to the Ministry of Finance’s Department of Customs, officers inspected a transit cargo container on April 25 at a customs yard operated by Moc Bai Border Gate Market Co. Ltd. in Tay Ninh Province.
The shipment belonged to Son Ha Transport and Services JSC, based in Dong Kinh Ward, Lang Son Province.

During the inspection, customs officials discovered 5,090 undeclared products suspected of infringing trademarks including Rolex, Gucci, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.
On April 29, Moc Bai Border Gate Customs contacted authorised representatives of the trademark owners in Vietnam for verification.
By May 7, representatives confirmed that all seized items were counterfeit products, including 3,980 Rolex watches, 90 Louis Vuitton caps, 90 Chanel hats, 90 Gucci caps and 840 Chanel hair clips.
Customs officers on May 8 issued a decision to temporarily seize the goods and established a valuation council to determine penalties and handling measures.
Authorities have also issued an administrative violation report against Son Ha Transport and Services JSC over alleged industrial property rights violations.
