
A Covid-19 patient is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases
On September 8, an additional 8,503 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 10.26 million.
On Thursday evening, one death from Covid-19 was recorded, raising the country's total fatalities to 43,127, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections.
By September 8, the country had injected over 257 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
The Ministry of Health has issued a guidance on the wearing of masks in public places for Covid-19 prevention and control amid rising number of infections.
Under the ministry’s guidance, people are requested to wear masks in public places including public transportation vehicles, trade centres, supermarkets, traditional markets, closed spaces and poorly ventilated places such as bars, discos, karaoke, beauty salons, gyms, restaurants, cinemas, theaters and studios.
Staff in offices for dossier receipt and transaction places must also wear masks when directly contacting customers, according to the guidance,which also specifies other cases that are encouraged to wear masks in public spaces.
