National team to train in Qatar for the 2019 Asian Cup

Fans surrounded the team when they arrived at the airport at 7 am. Many supporters wanted photos and to give the team gifts. The players were looking forward to the training session. They will train for nearly one week and have a friendly with the Philippines on December 31.

Van Toan has fully recovered from his injury so he will also train with the team in Qatar. Luc Xuan Hung, however, is suffering from ligament injury and is unable to join the team. Nguyen Hoang Duc, Ngo Tung Quoc and Phan Thanh Hau failed to make the final squad while coach Park Hang Seo still has to trim the squad with another player set to miss out.

Trong Hoang was also injured and if he can't recover in time, he may have lost the chance to participate in the Asian Cup.

The final team to participate in the 2019 Asian Cup will be decided in Qatar. Vietnam will fly to the United Arab Emirates and play their first match against Iraq on January 8, Iran on January 12 and Yemen on January 16.
