National Day holiday signals sharp passenger rise at Noi Bai Airport

Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi is expected to serve 2,500 flights carrying around 410,000 passengers during the coming National Day (September 2) holiday, up 37 percent and 17 percent, respectively on-year.

Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi is expected to serve 2,500 flights carrying around 410,000 passengers during the coming National Day (September 2) holiday, up 37 percent and 17 percent respectively on-year.

The peak day would welcome 637 flights with 106,000 passengers, including 31,000 international tourists.

Under the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAA)’s instructions, local airports, particularly Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat, need to tighten security measures and ease congestion during the National Day holiday.

Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport two hours before departure time for domestic flights and three hours before international flights to avoid being late.

They are also encouraged to use web check-in or self-check-in kiosks at the terminal to help save time.

The country will enjoy a four-day holiday from September 1-4 for the September 2 National Day holiday.
