Vietnam Railway Transport JSC halted four international passenger trains between Gia Lam and Nanning, China (MR1/MR2), along with 21 domestic passenger services today, October 1.

On the western railway line linking Hanoi and Lao Cai Province, several sections remain flooded, and slopes have been damaged. Railway teams are working urgently to repair the issues; however, services SP8, SP3, and SP4 on the route remain suspended today.

Vietnam Railway Transport JSC is alerting passengers to the halted train services through SMS, Zalo, social media platforms, and its official website.

The company is offering free ticket refunds, advising passengers to complete procedures at railway stations within 30 days of the scheduled departure date.

Passenger trains on the Hanoi-HCM City route are running again as the North-South railway reopens, but storm damage is forcing reduced speeds on several sections.

Freight operations have also been disrupted, with 24 cargo trains halted by storm-induced flooding. Four North-South trains were suspended, and two containers at Cau Giat (Vinh) were rerouted by road to Yen Vien (Hanoi).

Vietnam Railway Transport JSC continues to closely monitor post-storm flooding, working closely with authorities to provide timely updates to passengers and ensure safe and uninterrupted train operations.

Heavy rains on September 30 led to the suspension of several trains from Hanoi to Sapa and Vinh, while services SE9/SE10 on the Hanoi-HCM City line were also stopped.
