According to Le Truong Hien Hoa, deputy director of the HCM City Department of Tourism, on April 29-30, tours of the headquarters building of the HCM City People’s Council and People’s Committee attracted 1,500 visitors, including foreigners.

This was the first-time tourists had been allowed into the building. Tourists previously could only see the city administration’s exterior.
Hoa added that besides tours of the HCM City People’s Council and People’s Committee, the municipal tourism sector had considered cooperating with travel firms to include architectural tours.
The Municipal People's Committee and People’s Council building was constructed from 1898 to 1909. It was recognised as a national-level architectural and artistic monument in 2020.
On Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labour Day (May 1) holidays, HCM City welcomed 950,000 tourists, up 126.2 percent on-year. The city’s tourism sector pulled in total revenue of VND3.13 trillion (USD133.2 million) up 94.4 percent on-year.
