The 38 Chinese visitors arrived on a four-day-three-night tour operated by a travel company in Guangxi. They will visit some destinations in Quang Ninh and Hanoi.

Officials of Mong Cai City and representatives from some tourism and travel operators in Vietnam came to the gate to welcome and present flowers to the tourists.

Chinese tourists have accounted for 50 percent of international visitors to Quang Ninh over the past many years.

Besides the tourist group, there were hundreds of traders registered for travelling between the two countries at Mong Cai Border Gate on the morning of March 15.

The northern province of Lao Cai also welcomed the first Chinese tourist group through its international border gate today afternoon as China has officially resumed tours to Vietnam beginning from March 15.
