Nguyen Huu Ha is found by rescue forces after three days lost in Cat Tien National Park on September 15.
Ha had left his two children, aged 7 and 14, in a temporary shelter with his motorbike before venturing deeper into the forest at around 1 pm on September 13. When he did not return, the children sought help from relatives. After failing to find him, the family informed local authorities on the morning of September 15.
Rescue teams of police, soldiers, rangers and locals found him near a stream about three hours’ walk from his motorbike. He was taken to a local clinic and is now in stable condition.
Authorities urged people not to enter the forest without permission or guidance to avoid accidents and rescue challenges.
Cat Tien National Park spans over 70,000 hectares across Dong Nai and Lam Dong provinces and is a UNESCO biosphere reserve, home to hundreds of rare species listed in Vietnam’s Red Book.
