Police from Nam Ninh Commune working with the provincial mobile forest ranger unit, inspected the home of a 34-year-old local resident and found seven monocled cobras and three Burmese pythons.

The reptiles are listed as Group IIB forest animals under Vietnam's regulations on endangered, precious and rare wildlife, meaning their exploitation and trade are strictly regulated.
The owner failed to produce permits for keeping the animals or documents proving their legal origin, authorities said.
The reptiles were seized, and police are continuing to investigate the case in coordination with the provincial mobile forest ranger unit.
