According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, between 1 pm to 7 pm on Friday, the northwestern region of Vietnam saw torrential rain, particularly in Bac Kan Province’s Nhan Mon and Yen Bai Province’s Ba Khe.

The rainfall in some areas has reached around 80mm.

The centre has warned of potential landslides and flash floods in many localities, including the districts of Da Bac, Mai Chau, Tan Lac and Cao Phong in Hoa Binh Province and the districts of Bac Yen, Phu Yen, Yen Chau and Moc Chau in Son La Province. The incidents have also been forecasted for other provinces such as Lao Cai, Bac Kan and Yen Bai.

The rainy weather would last in the northern region until Monday. Temperatures in Hanoi would fall to 31 degrees centigrade on Sunday.
