Landslide hit pass linking Nha Trang and Dalat reopens

Song Pha, also known as Ngoan Muc Pass, a major route connecting Nha Trang and Dalat, has reopened after being temporarily closed due to landslides.

According to Lam Dong traffic police, the pass on National Highway 27 was reopened to traffic at 10 am on Friday after debris from several landslides was cleared.

Authorities in Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong are monitoring weather conditions, managing traffic flows and deploying officers at vulnerable locations to ensure safety.

The pass was closed on November 19 after intense rain triggered multiple landslides on the Khanh Hoa section, blocking traffic. It was shut to allow repair work and prevent further risk.

The 20 kilometre pass runs across steep, landslide prone terrain, especially during the rainy season.

Prolonged heavy rain in Lam Dong in recent days has flooded residential and farming areas and caused landslides on several major passes, including Prenn and D’ran on National Highway 20 and Khanh Le on National Highway 27C, disrupting traffic.
