The investigation is continuing and will be taken very seriously by authorities.
“We are highly appreciative of the very quick actions from the Hanoi police, which show offensive and stern measures in anti-corruption tasks," said Chien.
He also added, “This is a noteworthy lesson to warn everyone that they need to always be vigilant."
This is a case of a leader, from a top bank in Vietnam, accepting a bribe despite his position. Chien said his organisation would closely monitor the investigation of the case.
The Office of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption is taking more steps to increase their effectiveness. They signed an MOU regarding anti-corruption and civil rights with South Korea on February 3.
Under the MOU, the two sides will strengthen collaborative cooperation on exchanging anti-corruption information and documents, organising and participating in anti-corruption forums and workshops, training personnel to improve professionalism as well as exchanging advanced technologies for anti-corruption.
The Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption hopes to further expand the MOU with other nations as well.
