Hung Yen Provincial Police said on June 10 that officers had received reports from residents about several young people suspected of illegally using narcotics.
Following an investigation, authorities questioned two local males aged 15 and 20 from Pho Hien Ward. The pair admitted using cannabis purchased from Hoang Quy Nhan, 31, a resident of the same area.
A search of Nhan's residence led officers to a bedroom equipped with a sophisticated indoor cannabis cultivation system. Police seized 35 potted cannabis plants along with a range of equipment used to grow and maintain them, including metal frames, specialised lighting and electronic temperature-monitoring devices.

According to investigators, the system had been designed to replicate the plant's natural growing environment and maximise cultivation efficiency.
Authorities also confiscated tools and equipment allegedly used to process and package cannabis for illegal drug distribution.
Based on evidence collected during the investigation, Hoang Quy Nhan admitted to cultivating cannabis and engaging in the illegal sale of narcotics, police said.
The Criminal Investigation Agency of Hung Yen Provincial Police is continuing its investigation to clarify the full extent of the case and identify any additional individuals involved.
