Tao Dan Park became a popular draw, attracting crowds to celebrate the New Year and take part in horse riding activities during the 46th Ho Chi Minh City Spring Flower Festival.

From early morning of February 19, the riding area was busy with visitors. Organisers said eight imported-breed horses, raised and cared for in Lam Dong province and aged between five and nearly 20 years, were brought in to serve guests.

Tickets cost VND 100,000 (USD 3.8) per ride, with staff providing safety instructions and leading the horses along a fixed route. Each ride lasted a few minutes, allowing visitors to interact with the animals and take photos.

Photo sessions were suspended at 10 am as the horses paraded around the park, adding to the festive atmosphere. After about an hour, they were taken to a separate area to rest and bathe.

Phan Thanh Hung, a horse caretaker, said scheduled rest periods and regular care were mandatory to maintain the horses’ health and ensure safety throughout the event.

Nguyen Huu Dien, born in 1989 and residing in Binh Tri Dong Ward, expressed his excitement about experiencing this activity with his family for the first time.

Many other families arrived early, not only for entertainment but to give their children a chance to interact with animals and try new activities at the start of the year.

Tao Dan Park also offers activities such as New Year calligraphy, photo opportunities with the Tet mascot, and visits to flower gardens and decorative displays, creating a diverse and vibrant space for spring outings.
