Nguyen Viet Bang, head of the municipal Urban Management Board, said that local authorities are planning to identify 30 streets which are more than 10 metres wide to be used for parking. The plan will also include 60 streets used for motorbike parking.

The move is intended to increase local government income.
Hue City People’s Committee piloted parking spaces on Tran Hung Dao Street in April. The fees were VND12,000 (51.95 US cents) for four-seat cars and VND25,000 for 16-seat minibuses.
However, local residents complained about traffic problems so the plan was scrapped.
