According to the Chairman of the town’s Fatherland Front Le Choi, the Hoi An monument and park project is aimed at honouring people from Hoi An who died during wars with the French and Americans. It will be also a tourist site.

The project will cover around 3.5 hectares along Dinh River at Cam Thanh Ward which served as a revolutionary base during the French and American occupations. The work is expected to be completed in 2019.
“To date, we have received the donation of VND2 billion and hope to get more supports from donors,” Choi added. He also noted that the project has been supported by local people.
