Large scale rains lasting several hours caused serious flooding in Hanoi City late yesterday afternoon.

Huynh Thuc Khang Street was submerged 50 centimetres underwater
Streets such as Huynh Thuc Khang, Lang Ha, Nguyen Hong were submerged 50 centimetres underwater, making cars and motorbikes come to a dead stop.
Nguyen Duc Canh, Le Trong Tan, Thai Thinh were also submerged under water.
Workers of Hanoi Water Supply Sewerage Company mobilised mud cleaning vehicles to dredge ditches and by 18.30 many of the flooded areas had been cleared.
On May 22, the heaviest rain since the start of the summer also transformed streets into rivers, causing flood and traffic jams.
According to National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, heavy rains will cause a slight flooding of the Hong River system in two or three days' time.
